Azimut Seadeck 9 Review: Specs, Price and What the 84-Foot Flagship Means for South Florida Buyers

By Daniele Di Battista, CEO, Biagio Yachts · · Last updated

Quick answer: The Azimut Seadeck 9 is an 84-foot (25.6 m) Italian flybridge yacht and the flagship of Azimut's low-emission Seadeck Series. It pairs triple Volvo Penta IPS engines and a 30-knot top speed with a three-level, 645-square-foot stern terrace built around a glass-backed infinity pool.

The Azimut Seadeck 9 is an 84-foot (25.6 m) Italian flybridge yacht and the flagship of Azimut's low-emission Seadeck Series. It pairs triple Volvo Penta IPS engines and a 30-knot top speed with a three-level, 645-square-foot stern terrace built around a glass-backed infinity pool. For owners cruising Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and the Bahamas, it is one of the most water-connected yachts under 90 feet on the market today.

Boat International sea-trialed hull one, Aeterna, for its October 2026 issue. This guide combines that test with Azimut's official data and adds what a South Florida buyer needs to know.

Figures are from Boat International's specification panel for hull one and Azimut Yachts' official Seadeck 9 data.

Hull one, named Aeterna, launched in early 2026 and made her public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival that September. She has a white hull under a grey-bronze superstructure. Her first season was planned around Sicily and Sardinia.

What makes the Seadeck 9 different: the sea at your feet

Most flybridge yachts put their best living space high up, looking down at the water. Exterior designer Alberto Mancini told Boat International he wanted the opposite: the sea close, at eye level and all around you. On this yacht the best seat is the lowest one.

Azimut calls the result the Fun Island. It is 645 square feet (60 m²) of aft deck that steps down in three terraces from the saloon to the water. The Seadeck name comes from the same idea: a terrace on the sea.

    • Glass-backed infinity pool. About 420 US gallons (1,600 L), set flush into the main aft deck. Sunpads slide inboard to cover it, so the deck never shows an empty pool.
    • Fold-down balconies. One button lowers a balcony on each side of the pool. Open width grows to about 25 ft (7.7 m).
    • Lower terrace. One step down, with an oversized sun lounger. It unfolds into stairs that lead to the swim platform.
    • Transformer platform. A 75-square-foot (7 m²) hydraulic platform by Opacmare. It dips below the waterline and launches and recovers the tender.
    • Toy storage. Lockers under the aft deck hold a personal watercraft and Seabobs. Hull one carries a Williams SportJet 395 tender.
    • Shade and service. A retractable awning extends over the aft deck, which has its own fridge and stereo.
    • Dinner for ten. The high-low table extends to seat up to 10.

The saloon doors open fully and there is no step between saloon and aft deck, so the two work as one room.

Every owner so far has chosen teak decks. Azimut also offers cork, which stays cooler underfoot and is sourced in Europe.

Flybridge and foredeck: two more outdoor rooms

The stern gets the attention, but the Seadeck 9 has two other places to gather.

Flybridge. A staircase with underlit steps leads up from the port side deck. A hardtop with four tinted glass panels shades the space, and a low wraparound windscreen cuts the breeze without blocking the view. There is a second helm, a dining table and a large sunpad aft. The chef's station has a sink, fridge, icemaker and a teppanyaki grill with hotplate.

Foredeck. A separate lounge with sofas, pop-up mood lighting and its own speakers. It is the quiet end of the yacht when the stern is busy.

Interior and layout: resort design, not boardroom design

Milan designers Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez had never drawn a yacht before the Seadeck Series. They are known for environmentally sensitive architecture, and they set two rules here. Materials are natural, recycled or recyclable wherever possible. Anything that adds nothing to life on board is removed.

Saloon. Earth tones, a U-shaped sofa to port and a rattan Nastro armchair by Bonacina 1889 as the focal point. Picture windows run along the port side. Full-height glass doors slide open aft and to starboard. Buyers choose a warmer light walnut or a brighter pale oak palette.

Galley and helm. The galley is tucked forward beside the lower helm, out of the guest space. Crew can work without crossing the saloon.

Cabins. The standard layout sleeps eight guests in four en suite cabins:

    • A full-beam owner's suite amidships, with walnut veneers, twin marble sinks, large hull windows, a corner office and a walk-in wardrobe
    • A VIP double in the bow
    • One double and one twin cabin between them

The owner's suite is built as a floating structure on anti-vibration mounts, which keeps engine and generator noise out. An optional fifth cabin raises capacity to ten guests.

Crew. Two cabins for up to three crew sit between the guest cabins and the engine room.

Performance: what the sea trial showed

The Seadeck 9 runs on triple Volvo Penta IPS pod drives. Standard power is three IPS 1200 units at 900 hp each. Hull one has the optional IPS 1350 package at 1,000 hp each, and that is the yacht Boat International tested off Varazze, Italy.

    • Planing. She comes onto the plane at 16 knots, as the yard promised.
    • Top speed. 30 knots, with a 24-knot cruise.
    • Efficient band. Azimut designed the hull to cruise efficiently from 20 to 26 knots at constant trim. Owners are not tied to one sweet-spot speed.
    • Handling. Trim stays level and she turns confidently on the wheel. Steering by IPS joystick sharpens the response and banks her harder into turns.
    • Range. 343 nautical miles at 21 knots on 1,532 US gallons of fuel.
    • Comfort at speed. At 26 knots the flybridge windscreen gives partial shelter. The aft deck is calmer, and the saloon is quiet.

Azimut developed the hull with naval architects NAMES. Low weight, early planing and pod drives are the basis for the yard's claim of fuel savings of up to 30% against comparable shaft-drive yachts. For background on pod drives, see our guide to yacht propulsion systems.

Hybrid options, Hotel Mode and quiet-ship engineering

The Seadeck 9 is a diesel yacht engineered to run quietly and to accept electrification.

Zero Emission Hotel Mode. A 69.6 kWh lithium battery pack and two inverters run the air conditioning, stabilizer and entertainment systems with the generators off. Azimut quotes up to four hours by day and eight hours overnight.

Hybrid ladder. Azimut and Volvo Penta have partnered for 20 years. They spent the last two developing a full-hybrid IPS system, using the first Seadeck 7 as the test bed. Options now run from mild hybrid to full hybrid:

    • Mild hybrid adds a battery bank that carries hotel loads at anchor.
    • Full hybrid adds electric motors between the engines and gearboxes. They drive the yacht electrically for maneuvering and very short, low-speed runs.
    • Under diesel power those motors act as alternators and charge a larger battery bank. That removes the need for generators.
    • The larger battery bank adds about 440 to 660 lb (200 to 300 kg).

Noise and vibration. A silencer quiets the air conditioning. An exhaust treatment system cuts noise and emissions from the two Kohler generators at anchor. A Seakeeper 26 gyro handles roll.

Energy savings. Reflective 3M film on the superstructure glass reduces the air conditioning load. About 102 square feet (9.5 m²) of Solbian solar panels, rated near 1.6 kW, keep the house batteries topped up.

Recycled materials. Both carpet options are made from recycled material, as are all upholstery fabrics inside and out. Recycled PET replaces PVC in the bulkheads and in 65% of the deck. Azimut says that recycles more than 10,000 plastic bottles per yacht.

Is the Seadeck 9 a good fit for Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach?

Yes. The design brief reads like a description of how South Florida owners already use their yachts. Six points matter locally.

Days at anchor. The Fun Island is built for swim stops. Off Key Biscayne, in Biscayne Bay or near Peanut Island in Palm Beach, Hotel Mode keeps the generators off all afternoon. No exhaust and no hum at the pool.

Heat and sun. The retractable aft awning, the flybridge hardtop and the reflective film on the glass all matter more in a Florida summer than in the Mediterranean.

Bahamas runs. Bimini is roughly 50 nautical miles from Miami and Fort Lauderdale. West End, Grand Bahama, is a similar run from Palm Beach. At 21 to 24 knots, either crossing takes two to two and a half hours. A round trip to Bimini uses less than a third of the 343-nautical-mile range. Nassau, about 160 nautical miles from Miami in a straight line, is also within range on one tank. The yacht carries a CE Category A rating, the highest offshore design category.

Draft. At 6 ft 2 in, the Seadeck 9 handles the Intracoastal Waterway and the main South Florida channels. The shallower parts of the Bahamas call for tide planning.

Dockage. At 84 ft overall with a 20 ft 8 in beam, she suits slips and private docks built for 85 to 90 ft yachts. The balconies fold up in the marina, so the 25 ft open width only applies at anchor.

Factory support. Azimut|Benetti Group opened its Americas headquarters at Pier Sixty-Six Marina in Fort Lauderdale in late 2025. The U.S. accounts for nearly one-third of the group's business (Marine Industry News).

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs October 28 to November 1, 2026. Azimut had not confirmed a U.S. debut date for the Seadeck 9 when this article was published. Contact Biagio Yachts for the latest on U.S. viewings.

The Seadeck 9 matches the Grande 26M's beam but spends that volume on deck space instead of a fifth standard cabin. Fly 82 and Grande 26M figures are from Azimut's published model data.

Outside the Azimut range, Boat International names three other yachts built around living at water level:

    • Sanlorenzo SX88. 88 ft (26.8 m), with a generous sea-level aft deck but no fold-down balconies.
    • Sunreef 80 Power. A catamaran with far more deck area. It sits higher off the water, with a hydraulic swim platform that lowers to sea level.
    • Riva 112' Dolcevita. 112 ft (34 m), with fold-down terraces on each side. A size class above.

Azimut Seadeck 9 price and availability

Azimut does not publish a list price for the Seadeck 9. One European dealer listing reviewed for this article showed a new fourth-quarter 2026 build at about €7.8 million before VAT, options included.

Treat that as a reference point, not a quote. U.S. delivered pricing depends on engine choice, Hotel Mode and hybrid options, interior specification, shipping and duties. Our guide to buying a foreign yacht in the US and our Florida yacht sales tax guide cover the import and tax side.

The Seadeck 9 is a series-production model built to order. Hull one was delivered in summer 2026.

The largest Seadeck Azimut will build

The Seadeck 9 is the top of the range and will stay there. Azimut planned the Seadeck Series as three models: the 6, the 7 and the 9.

There is also a physical limit. Hulls and superstructures leave the Avigliana plant by road for finishing in Savona. The road limit is 24 meters (79 ft), so the 9's bow and stern sections are bolted on after transport. A larger Seadeck could not make the trip.
