Who designed the Custom Line Saetta 128?
Three teams designed the Saetta 128. Naval architecture came from the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Department, led by Piero Ferrari, working with the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. SY Design of Bologna drew the exterior, and Chiara Massarani of ACPV Architects Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel created the interiors with support from Custom Line Atelier.
The exterior is the work of Matteo Sassone and Veronica Yien at SY Design, and it is the studio's first collaboration with Custom Line. The profile has a sloping stern, screen-printed glazing and a central mast inspired by a shark fin. The spoilers are lighter, in keeping with the other Saetta models.
What are the interiors of the Saetta 128 like?
The interiors of the Saetta 128 come in two "moods". Perfect uses chocolate and mocha lacquer, walnut and maple parquet, white marbles and ivory wallpapers. Classic is a more basic, balanced scheme with woods such as oak and more linear wallpapers. In both, all furniture is "floating", raised off the floor.
Lifting every piece clear of the floor is deliberate: it echoes the planing character of the line.
What is the layout of the Saetta 128?
The Saetta 128 spreads its living space across three decks. The main deck holds a 33 m² aft deck, a 40 m² saloon with dining and a forward owner's suite. The upper deck has a skylounge and a 40 m² terrace at the stern, and the sundeck adds a further 30 m² outdoors.
Deck by deck:
- Main deck: a 33 m² aft deck leads into a 40 m² main saloon with dining. The owner's suite is forward.
- Upper deck: a skylounge with a closed saloon opens onto a 40 m² terrace at the stern, which can be customised.
- Bow: a large lounge with sofa seating and a sunbathing area, with the option of a whirlpool tub.
- Sundeck: another 30 m² of outdoor space.
- Stern: a multipurpose area for two water toys, for example a tender and a jet ski, which can be extended with a large swim platform.
- Lower deck: four guest cabins.
If you are comparing three-deck layouts, our tri-deck listings are a useful reference point.
How many guests does the Saetta 128 sleep?
The Saetta 128 sleeps up to 10 guests in five cabins. The owner's suite is forward on the main deck, and four more cabins are on the lower deck: three VIP cabins and one double. There is also accommodation for a crew of six, including the captain.
The owner's suite has a central bed, a dressing area and two bathrooms connected by an extra-large shower, all behind full-height windows.
How fast is the Custom Line Saetta 128?
The Saetta 128 has a top speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 19 knots. Power comes from twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines rated at 2,638 hp each. The yacht can also be certified to IMO Tier III by fitting an SCR system.
That SCR (selective catalytic reduction) system can cut nitrogen-oxide emissions by up to 70%. For more on how engine and drive choices shape a yacht, read our guide to yacht propulsion systems.
How many Custom Line yachts are on order?
Custom Line currently has 14 yachts on order or in build, according to BOATPro figures cited in the launch report. The largest of them is the latest Navetta 50, a 50-metre yacht. Of the Saetta 128 itself, three yachts have been sold so far.
What it means for buyers in South Florida
A planing yacht of around 40 metres pairs the cabins, deck space and crew of a large yacht with a faster cruising speed than a displacement hull is built for. With a 19-knot cruise and a 22-knot top speed, the Saetta 128 is a clear example of the type.
For a buyer in South Florida or elsewhere in the US, there are two ways to approach a yacht like this:
- New build. Ordering a new yacht means agreeing a specification and a build contract with the builder. On the Saetta 128, the published choices already include two interior moods, a customisable upper-deck terrace and an optional whirlpool tub at the bow. An independent broker can represent you through that process and help you measure the specification against alternatives.
- Brokerage market. Buyers who prefer a yacht that already exists can look at comparable planing yachts of similar length that are listed for sale. That route swaps the build period for the inspection, sea trial and survey of a specific yacht.
As an independent brokerage, our role is to help you weigh a new launch like this against what is available on the open market. You can browse current yachts for sale or get to know our team.
